About the Larling Angel

The Angel Inn Freehouse is a historic public house, first built for Thomas Wright in 1631. In the 17th Century the Angel served as a Coaching Inn, known under the guise of 'le Angel', 'The Forth House' and 'The Ford House'. However, ever since 1826 it has been known simply as 'The Angel' and from 1994 it has been owned as a Freehouse by Brian and Andrew Stammers, after the Stammers family had been in the pub as tennants for more than 80 years.
